Statement
My work explores the relationship between movement, memory, and encounter. I travel to places that call to me and begin each work by drawing directly on site, without preliminary sketches. The lines record not only the visible landscape, but also the atmosphere, time, and sensations held within the place.
After returning to my studio, I layer these drawings with watercolor, ink, gold, and recurring images of butterflies. In my work, butterflies are not simply symbols of beauty or transformation. They act as carriers of memory, moving between places, lives, and different states of being.
Gold functions as a field of light in which hidden memories and invisible presences can emerge. Through my ongoing series CALLING, I create poetic landscapes where personal experience and the memory of place overlap. My work asks how encounters remain within us, and how what has disappeared may return through image, movement, and light.
私は、移動・記憶・邂逅の関係を探りながら制作しています。呼ばれるように感じた土地へ実際に赴き、下描きをせず、その場で線を描くことから作品を始めます。その線は、目に見える風景だけではなく、その場所に流れる時間や空気、身体が受け取った感覚を記録するものです。
アトリエに戻った後、現地で描いた線に、水彩、インク、金、そして繰り返し現れる蝶の姿を重ねます。私の作品における蝶は、単なる美や変容の象徴ではありません。場所と場所、生命と生命、異なる存在の状態を行き来しながら、記憶を運ぶ存在です。
金は、見えない気配や眠っていた記憶が浮かび上がる、光の領域として機能します。継続的なシリーズ CALLING を通して、個人の経験と土地の記憶が重なり合う詩的な風景を描いています。出会いがどのように私たちの内側に残り、失われたものがイメージと移動と光によって、どのように再び現れるのかを問いかけています。
